Hello

Hello

Hello there!

Sometimes, I wonder who you are — the mysterious people who read my blog. Β Are you tall or short? Β Do you like coffee or tea? Β  I wish we could sit down for a spell and just get to know one another. Β I would probably laugh too loudly and make a mess while I eat — because I am just not that fancy and put together.

Today, in order to foster a little “get together,” I am going to answer the fun questions that the girls over at Allume asked their friends last month. Β I would love for you to share a little of your answers in the comments.

Let’s be friends!

What was your favorite food as a kid?

McDonald’s Cheeseburgers

What chore do you despise the most?

Cleaning the toilet (It’s stinky!)

When was the last time you chatted with your neighbor?

We had lunch last Sunday. Β Love her!

What sound do you love?

The sound of my husband’s voice…. the ocean …. laughter of friends …. Β worship at church

If you could paint a picture of a place you have been what would it be?

As a teen, my parents took me to St. Croix, and we stayed in this bungalow right on the water that had a window seat and a rock terrace that stepped out to the sand.

If you could only do one thing for a whole year what would you want it to be?

Read, of course

If you could learn to do anything what would it be?

Play the guitar (but my rebellious fingers don’t want to learn)

If you could pick anyone as a mentor who would you pick?

Beth Moore

What do you do with 30 minutes of free time?

I check Facebook or chat on the phone with friends.

What would the dream birthday present be?

A getaway trip with my husband.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I do not plan on growing up. πŸ™‚

What is something new you learned last week?

I learned that prime rib is a great way to bribe my husband.

What do you miss most about being a kid?

Not having to balance a checkbook.

If gifted an all expenses paid vacation to anywhere where would you pick?

Israel, Europe, the Grand Canyon — do I have to pick one?

If everything in your life aligned exactly as in your dreams, what would your life look like? Where would you live, what would you do?

I would love to see all of my family come to know Christ. Β I’d live on the water, and I’d be happily retired.

If I was coming to your house for dinner, what would we have?

Probably a BBQ if our husbands were sitting in. Β If it’s a girl’s night, probably tacos.

What’s in your purse?

Everything. Β (I never leave home without my colored lip balm and my cell phone charger.)

What are your 5 favorite books?

Who came up with this question? Β Am I really supposed to narrow this down to 5? Β (My all time favorite is God Thinks You’re WonderfulΒ by Max Lucado.)

Okay, now it’s your turn….

  1. Well, I started to answer your questions, but all of a sudden I just couldn’t decide on the answers, I’ll have to think about it, but I agree about Beth Moore ( I got to see her a couple of years ago) and having to limit myself to 5 books would be hard. I’m going to really have to put my thinking cap on:)

  2. I wandered over to your blog from a list of linkup parties from someone else’s blog. Forget whose. I am updating where I visit for linkup if that explains it some. I just loved your questions and getting to know you this way. These questions would make a wonderful and interesting “About Me” page.

  3. So I loved reading this, Lyli, probably because you have so touched my life in ways you not! And then I read your responses – that you would read for a year and Beth Moore as a mentor (oh yeah!!! but you’ll be sharing her with me πŸ™‚ ), and your love of tacos & think, I so want to meet you someday! So grateful you are you! xxoo

  5. I just love these kind of posts. Makes me miss the Get to Know You Monday posts I was doing. Maybe one day it will return. But I love the chance to get to know you better, Lyli.
I love how you refer to your husband often in your answers. πŸ™‚ Speaks volumes about your love for him…super cool! Thanks so much for sharing. Much love. xoxo

  6. Lyli,
I loved reading this and getting to know you better…like you, I wish I had more time to read…prime rib is a treat for Christmas Eve usually πŸ™‚ Yep, 5 books would be hard…Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors…St. Croix…sounds lovely πŸ™‚

  7. Lyli, I love this idea of sharing these types of things with your readers. I don’t like McD’s but have a horrible weakness for chipolte! πŸ™‚ I am going to do something like this on my blog for the New Year! And I agree, I totally couldn’t choose just a few books. I love to read!

  8. fun to read. I too hate the toilet – that made me smile. But your question about the neighbors sadden me when I realized I hadn’t really connected with them for quite a while. I do like to make them a Christmas surprise so you have inspired me tonight. thanks.
