Hold Fast in Hard Times — Prepare for Rain (Day 21)

Prepare for Rain
During my first week as a school teacher, I was introduced to many different protocols that helped to create a healthy and safe learning environment for my students.  One of those was explained in a handout titled “Rainy Day Procedures.”

If inclement weather was in the forecast, we had a precise plan for how to re-direct our day.  I knew how to respond to the storm — there was no uncertainty about how to proceed.  The plan brought calm and confidence.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how I need to have a similar plan for the storms of life.    Weather is subject to change, so in the VLOG below, I share some thoughts on how to not be caught unawares by sudden downpour.

…examine all things; hold fast to what is good.

Stay away from every form of evil.

  1. LOVE this! Love that we are neighbors over at Holly’s this morning! We had all the rain yesterday – with a double rainbow in the morning and at sunset… Great word, my friend!

  2. Great reminder to be prepared. I like to have a verse ready in my mind to meditate to ward off the negatives that may present themselves in a day!
