Lessons Learned in 3D — Sickly Me Checks In

This week has been a tough one at our house — we are coughing and blowing our noses and praying for our colds to go away.  “Me” no like to be sick! 🙁    I am happy that I have the weekend ahead to “re-group” and rest.

Here in no particular order are 10 things I learned this week:

1.  Monday was National Napping Day.  Don’t you think a daily Siesta would be a good thing?

2.  In marriage there is a winning strategy.  (Great post from Lisa with Club 31 Women!)

3.  A well-lived life is worthy of honor.  Just ask Dan Cathy… (loved this post about his dad.)

4.  I downloaded two wonderful new albums this week — Zion by Hillsong United and Let the Future Begin by Passion.  Both excellent CDs!

5.  March 14th is apparently “Pi Day” — this is a holiday dedicated to Math, or to eating Pie for those who like to celebrate with calories.

6.  I finally discovered a simple way to create a cool quote graphic.  Here is my Pinterest board with some web sites that help you do this “easy peasy.”

7.  Google Reader is going to die.  (Boo hoo!)  — This week I tested Feedly as an alternative for reading my favorite blogs and really liked it.

8.  I need to pray more faithfully for the parents of special needs children.  I read several blog posts this week written by courageous parents who walk out their faith in a way I will never understand.  Here is a video about Byron, Susan, and their sweet Allie that will touch your heart.

9.  A bookstore can be a great place to spend date night.  (See here for some inspiration.)

10.  Favorite quote of the week: “Don’t say, ‘God, here is my problem.’ Say, ‘Problem, here is my God!'” – T.F.Tenney (Thank you, Rayni for tweeting this!).

Q4U:  What did you learn this week?

  1. Hope you and yours are feeling better! It’s not easy when Mama is sick…

Thanks for sharing some great links. As if I didn’t have enough to do already! ha. Clicking through to see more good stuff.

  2. Awesome photo! And that verse really speaks into my prayers this week. Also that beautiful quote in your number 10. Reading so many verses on healing this week, I’ve learned even more how God is our healer… even for colds! I pray His wholeness on you and yours…
