Lessons Learned in 3D — Spring Fun

Spring is in full bloom here in South Florida.  April showers hit us yesterday.   I curled up on the couch with a large sweet tea from Chick-fila and watched the sky get darker and darker.  Some days are like that, aren’t they?  The blue sky just starts filling with unexpected clouds.   I pray that this post finds you having a sunny day, but if you need some encouragement during the storm, here are 10 things I learned this week that I hope will bring you some sunshine.

1.  Easter was AWESOME!  Our church hosted a large outdoor service at FAU stadium, and close to 400 people committed their lives to Christ.  Here is a recap video.  This fills my heart with such hope — God is changing lives!!!

2.  Who would have known that Beth Moore could write fiction?  I love this Easter story written through the eyes of Joseph of Arimathea.

4.  Depression is a subject that is often taboo in Christian circles, yet I know so many who struggle with paralyzing sadness that is more than just “the blues.”  I so appreciated this article by Renee for Relevant Magazine that is honest and full of truth.  I pray that those struggling will be courageous and take steps toward getting help that leads to healing.

5.  You have to have an attack plan to get out of the doldrums.   (Thank you, Jen.)

6.  I made beef stroganoff for my husband on Easter Sunday.  Apparently, this is an accomplishment that a rocket scientist was lauded for in her recent obituary (Some folks thought it was in poor taste).  I think she is an amazing woman who accomplished much.  I’d like her recipe for juggling family life and career so successfully.

7.  I love this advice from Tsh at Simple Mom about avoiding burn out and relishing the “sacred messiness” of it all.  Wise words!

8.  Have you “over yessed” yourself?   Sometimes, you need to take a step back.   Here Jennifer will tell you all about it.

9.  I was so encouraged by this post where Michelle shares how “even in the darkest season, hope springs up anew.”

10.  Mom’s are the bomb.  Seriously!  Just watch her rap in this video:  “The Parent Rap.”  (This is hysterical!)

Q4U:  What have you learned this week?

Thanks for stopping by! I would love to connect with you on FacebookTwitter, or Pinterest.

I am joining Jessie and friends over at Vanderbilt Wife for “Saturday Linky Love.”
